Resentment. That feeling of holding onto past hurts, injustices, or disappointments like a heavy, smoldering coal. The SoulSet when Resentment clouds the air involves the willingness to acknowledge the original pain beneath the bitterness. It means setting down the constant replay of the grievance in our minds. It requires releasing the (often exhausting) desire for the past to be different, or for the person/situation that caused the hurt to finally change or offer the apology we crave. It's the exhale of "I acknowledge this hurt, but I don't have to keep drinking this poison.
