Daily Delight: "Rock, Paper, Scissors, Shoot!"

Hey Soul Travelers! Day 6 of being ROOTED in Joy, let's get into it!

Our Play Prompt today is Rock, Paper, Scissors, Shoot! Listen, this game ran our whole childhood! Who's going first down the slide? Rock, paper, scissors. Last slice of pizza? Rock, paper, scissors. Somebody's gotta be "it" for tag? You already know. We'd stand there shaking our fists, getting hyped, counting down together - "Rock, Paper, Scissors, say SHOOT!" - and then BAM, the big reveal. Your heart would jump a little every single time, even though nothing was really on the line. Just three quick moves of your hand, but somehow it felt like everything depended on it. Pure drama over absolutely nothing, and we lived for every second of it.

Daily Delight: Freeze Frame Fun & Forward Motion

Hey Soul Travelers! Day 5 of being ROOTED in Joy!

Our Play Prompt today is Red Light, Green Light, 1-2-3! Whether it was in the schoolyard, the park, or just the backyard, this game was a masterclass in paying attention and making your move at just the right moment. That breathless anticipation during "Red Light," holding your pose, trying not to giggle... and then the wild, joyful dash on "Green Light!" It taught us about pausing, about timing, and about the exhilaration of simply running free towards a goal.

Artist: Beyoncé Song: "Countdown" Lyric Spark:

"My baby is a ten, we dressing to the nine He pick me up, we eight, make me feel so lucky seven He kiss me in his six, we be making love in five Still the one, I four, I'm trying to make us three From that two, he's still the one."

Daily Delight: Rhythmic Hearts & Pavement Rhymes

Our Play Prompt today is Double Dutch Dreams! "whump, whump, whump" that rope it the sidewalk and opened a portal. It was a stage, a sport, a whole social club right there on the sidewalk. Two turners, one jumper, and a chorus of friends chanting you on. It was about finding your rhythm within a larger rhythm, about the community holding the space for you to shine, and about the breathless joy of nailing that perfect sequence of moves. As your toes tapped to the rhythm of the rope, It was a testament to our ability to create art and connection with nothing but a couple of ropes and our own resilience.

Artist: Janelle Monáe Song: "Tightrope" Lyric Spark:

"You can't get too high, You can't get too low. 'Cause you're in the middle, And you still got further to go."
