From the jazz clubs of Bronzeville to the thriving Black-owned businesses of Chatham, the Windy City’s legacy is deeply rooted in economic power and self-determination. As part of ROOTED 2025’s nationwide movement, this Freedom Route will take you through Bronzeville and Chatham, celebrating the past, present, and future of Black business in Chicago.
